From AYLP staff:
To all the friends and family who have been following our adventures …
We want to say thank you for lending us these energetic and inspiring young leaders for the last few weeks. Every day we have seen remarkable examples of kindness, generosity, resilience and adventurous spirits from this group - not to mention a genuine commitment to creating positive change in the world around them. It has been a true pleasure to travel with each and every one of these students, to watch them eagerly embrace new ideas and experiences, and form strong bonds with each other and with the people that they met along the way.
There were lots of hugs and tears this morning as the group said goodbye to their host families in Zhongshan, and caught a ferry back for our last night in Hong Kong. The students bought a surprise cake to wish Nicolas and Luis a happy birthday, then we took advantage of Hong Kong's international cuisine to feast on Indian food for dinner. The evening was spent exploring the night markets near our hotel, getting a last taste of Hong Kong and stocking up on souvenirs to bring home for friends and family.
We'll be up bright and early to catch our flight home! Hopefully, we'll all be bringing a little bit of the things we learned and experienced back home with us - making us stronger environmentalists and global leaders.
See you all very soon!
